Most influential people in sport - 2009

http://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/article/64387

Ever wanted to know who are the most influential people in sport! Well the Sports Business Journal have compiled a list of their thoughts. The top 5 are:

Jacques Rogge (President International Olympic Committee)

Roger Goodall (Commissioner NFL)

George Bodenheimer (President ESPN/ABC Sports)

David Stern (Commissioner NBA)

Brian Roberts and Steve Burke (CEO and COO Comcast)

These people are well-known but do we know who are the most influential designers or engineers in the sports industry? Those who developed the Speedo LZR Racer swimsuit before the Beijing 2008 Olympics? The adidas World Cup Football 2010 design team? Usain Bolts sprintspikes designer or somebody else?

What do you think is the most important sports invention of recent years? Do you know of a designer in the industry who has had a major impact. Here at sportstechreview we believe we can get in touch and conduct an interview with them. Leave us your thoughts by clicking the comments tag below.

Track your life with TheCarrot.com

http://thecarrot.com/

When you’re trying to get healthy—exercising, losing weight, or managing a disease like diabetes—monitoring your daily activities can really help. But having data in a bunch of different places is too complicated—and time consuming.

TheCarrot.com to the rescue! With their free tracking service, you can choose trackers to monitor almost anything—Exercise, Food, Medications, Hypertension, Asthma, Pregnancy, and lots more. Health journals are in a familiar calendar format that helps you stay motivated to track their progress.

After gathering your data—for a day, a year, or anywhere in between—you can see how you’re doing by running and printing a color report. These powerful reports are what really make TheCarrot unique, and they’re formatted so you can easily share them with your trainer, nutritionist, or doctor.

Want to know more? Check out http://thecarrot.com/.

The interesting thing about thecarrot.com is that they have recently launched a iPhone and WebH1N1 (Swine flu) tracker that enables people with flu-like symptoms to keep track of their activities. If tests confirm that they have contracted the Swine Flu virus, the contact information captured by the tracker will enable quick notification of people who may have been exposed to the disease to speed testing and needed treatment. AS Douglas Trauner (CEO), says:

“With TheCarrot.com Swine Flu tracker, we hope our users will be able to help clinicians, epidemiologists and other researchers better understand transmission of the disease, which will help prevention efforts,”

I say good luck to them - its a great idea with a good product to follow.

Physiobench - online recovery advica

http://www.physiobench.com/

Physiobench is a very interesting and simply designed website that enables the user to enter their injury problems, choose a physio and receive treatment advice. Perhaps this is the future of medical diagonsis and treatment for patients. I can imagine the NHS copying this protocol in the future with patients forwarding photographs of their ailments. Great idea!!!
